This year’s show will expand back to its original size! By popular demand, the Fall Detroit Camper & RV Show will take up all three exhibition halls at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi. Since 2009 we have shared the facility with the Southeast Michigan Builders Association. We had a successful working relationship and we wish the builders association well in their Fall Remodeling Expo which will take place the week following our show.
The show will take place October 1-5. Members and potential exhibitors who wish to receive information and/or a commitment form for this year’s show, should contact Darren Ing or Brandy Nelson at the association office. RVIA Names Thetford’s Pouliot Vice Chairman of Certification Board
The RV Industry Association recently named Thetford’s Mary Pouliot as vice chairman of the organization’s Certification Governing Board at a meeting this summer, according to a press release.
Pouliot has served as director of Thetford customer service since 2006 and was a member of the RVIA committee.
“It’s an exciting opportunity for me personally,” Pouliot said. “Thetford is committed to leading the RV industry, and I am happy to represent our company and our industry.” – RV PRO
Pouliot is also a member of the MARVAC Board of Director’s. August 12th she was elected to serve as board Secretary.

MARVAC Member Taylor’s Lost Haven Opens Campground
BEAVERTON – Community members, campers and dignitaries came out to Taylor’s Lost Haven Campground Friday to celebrate its grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony, with the help of the Gladwin County Chamber of Commerce.
Located at 5300 Townhall Road in Beaverton, the Campground is owned by Kevin and Vickie Taylor, with assistance from daughter, Jessie, 20; and twin sons Ryan and Randy, 17.
According to their brochure, the Taylor family, originally from Howell, is “working towards a new way of life. We decided the best way to make this happen is to own a campground. This has been a dream of ours and my family wanted to make this dream a reality.”
The campground has 15 acres of peaceful surroundings, including 100 grass covered RV and camper friendly sites complete with water and electric. There is an oversized 1000-foot pond.
Amenities include hot showers, pet-friendly, volleyball, basketball and horseshoe pits, age-appropriate play areas, shoreline fishing, supervised kid-friendly activities, Pavilion rental, a dump station, paddle boat rental, and limited WiFi availability.
They are open from April to October and offer daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal rates.

Record Breaking Attendance at RV/MH Hall of Fame Induction Dinner
ELKHART, Ind., August 5. 2014 — The Class of 2014 was inducted into the RV/MH Hall of Fame (Hall) last night in Elkhart, Indiana, in a gala ceremony before a record breaking crowd of more than 440 family members, friends, and colleagues from across the country.
The Class of 2014 includes: Debbie Brunoforte, Little Dealer, Little Prices; Bob Livingston, Good Sam; Peter B Orthwein, Thor Industries; John D Roba, Roba and Associates; James F Shields (deceased), Pan Pacific RV Centers; Barry Cole, Manufactured Housing Insurance Services; Ed Evans, EPM; Thomas “Tom” L. Kern, Style Crest Enterprises; Richard “Dick” King, King Insurance; and Gary McDaniel, YES! Communities
This year’s attendance of 444 set a new record, beating the previous record of 434 attendees and far outpaced the 2013 attendance of 311. It was also a record breaking year for fundraising at the dinner and golf outing.
Before the induction ceremonies, Hall President Darryl Searer, said in his “State of the Hall” address, “Last year after my first year as president I reported to you that the Hall was in the best shape it had ever been. Tonight, the news is even better. It is my pleasure to report to you this year that the Hall of Fame has continued its upward trend of improving in all areas of the operation.
