Great Finish and a Strong Start
RV sales finished strong in 2014 with increased sales of both towable and motorized vehicles. Towable sales finished at 13,491 units sold, up 6.9% statewide. Motorhomes finished at 1,122 up an impressive 13.2% over 2013 yearend figures. With many MARVAC campground members reporting a strong camping season during 2014, many could say the RV and campground industry is on solid ground for future years.
The momentum from 2014 rolled right into the New Year, with the 49th Annual Detroit Camper & RV Show opening on February 4th at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi. Despite a sizeable snow storm on the Sunday preceding the show, RVs filled the exhibit hall and show visitors set a new five day attendance record for the Detroit show with over 22,000 RV enthusiasts visiting this year’s show. MARVAC member dealers and exhibitors were pleased with a strong response from attendees who bought RVs in record numbers. The remaining MARVAC show season continues with the Battle Creek Camper & RV Show, February 19-22; Flint Camper & RV Show, March 19-22; and the Northwest Michigan Camper & RV Show, March 27-29. 100,000 printed copies of the publication will be distributed throughout the year at MDOT Welcome Centers, MARVAC RV Shows and other events. Insurance Coverage for MARVAC Members
Association members are eligible to participate in the Association Accidental Death & Dismemberment Policy program through Reliance Standard Life Insurance Company. This policy is part of your annual membership fees.
Members are allowed one $10,000 policy, per company membership. This is good for one single individual of company designation. This coverage is automatic for MARVAC members who are in good standing.
If you have not completed a Designation of Beneficiaries form, or need to submit an updated one, click here to access it. Please complete the form and submit it to the Association office.
HARVEST Scholarship Applications Now Available
If you know college students who could benefit from receiving a HARVEST scholarship, have them visit the association’s website, and download the application.
The HARVEST Education Foundation is a non-profit education foundation created by the Michigan Manufactured Housing, Recreation Vehicle and Campground Association in 1991. HARVEST grants scholarships to persons who would like to pursue a career in the recreation vehicle or campground industry. Applications may be downloaded and printed from marvac.org.
