To the thousands of RV and camping enthusiasts, to the hundreds of MARVAC members including RV dealers, manufacturers, campgrounds, and suppliers; to the many RV show facilitators across the state, thank you! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of the Michigan Association of Recreation Vehicles and Campgrounds for the past 27 years and working on your behalf to provide the best RV and camping information, RV shows, and legislative protection for our industry.
Since 1995, I have been involved in producing and managing more than 250 MARVAC RV and Camping shows across our great state of Michigan. I have witnessed over a million RV and camping patrons attend our shows. I am a very lucky person to have been part of this experience.
I will be retiring at the end of 2022. The last two years have been difficult times for producing shows, but we look forward to seeing many new families looking to be part of the RVing lifestyle in the coming year. I hope that if you see me at a show or in our great state of Michigan, you will stop and say “hi”!

If there’s anything we’ve learned over the past couple years, it’s that we are extremely fortunate to be able to RV in a beautiful state like Michigan! From hiking and floating in innertubes in Ludington, to visiting Pictured Rocks
in the U.P., to exploring the one of-a-kind Mackinac Island. This edition of Michigan RV & Campgrounds celebrates the unparalleled camping opportunities of the Great Lakes State. Throughout the year, RVs take us to family reunions, county fairs, music festivals and more – all while allowing us to explore the natural beauty of our state along the way!
As a group, the number of RVers is growing exponentially. More and more generations are discovering the RV lifestyle. While this has been happening for the past two decades, this growth accelerated with the pandemic. Individuals, couples and families of all ages are choosing to camp – and well outside the “traditional” summer RV season. Early spring and late fall are more popular than ever for camping.
Besides the appeal of Michigan’s various seasons and natural wonders,
what also is so appealing is the RV lifestyle itself. New owners are just now discovering this, but the joys of RVing is a reality many of us have known and loved all along.
Michigan’s Great Outdoors is waiting for you, so let’s Go RVing! Have a great 2022 camping season!
