Through advocacy, education, marketing and promotion, MARVAC works tirelessly to provide value to each and every member by improving the business climate for members, fostering growth in the RV and campground industries, and contributing to the quality of Michigan tourism.
Advocacy – Government and Legislative Efforts
MARVAC actively monitors legislation that has the potential to affect RV dealerships, campgrounds, and the outdoor tourism industry and works with the state’s top legal and legislative consultants to ensure that members’ viewpoints are represented, understood, and protected. MARVAC’s role in advocacy does not end with legislation. The Association works closely and had direct access to several state agencies including the Secretary of State, DNR, EGLE, MDOT, Treasury, and others. In collaboration with related organizations and with national memberships with the Recreational Vehicle Dealer Association (RVDA), Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA), and others, MARVAC also contributes input to federal agencies that regulate the industry on a regional and national level.
Exposure – Member Marketing & Promotion
Creating opportunities for consumer awareness of member businesses is a top priority of MARVAC, realized primarily through:
-
- MARVAC’s Annual Michigan RV & Campgrounds Directory – MARVAC members receive a complimentary listing in the annual membership directory with upwards of 75,000 printed and distributed each year at RV and campground shows, Michigan Welcome Centers, State Parks, and other targeted networks. Members also have the opportunity to advertise in the directory.
- MARVAC’s Website – marvac.org provides members the ability to list company details, links, and contact information, and even include pictures! With an average of nearly 25,000 hits each month, MARVAC’s website is an excellent source of target exposure for members.
- RV & Camping Show Exposure – MARVAC RV & Camping Shows are the biggest and best in Michigan and provide exposure to nearly 50,000 potential buyers and consumers annually. Only MARVAC member RV dealers, manufacturers, campgrounds, and industry-related businesses can exhibit or be part of the members-only booth that distributes brochures on behalf of each member. MARVAC currently hosts 6 shows – 2 in metropolitan Detroit, and one each in Battle Creek, Port Huron, Flint, and Traverse City.
Education and Networking
MARVAC presents the best industry education for RV dealerships and campgrounds each year with national and state experts, and facilitates valuable opportunities for members to engage with other members to discuss best practices and share solutions
