MARVAC Battle Creek Show Kicks Off March
Despite continued bitter cold temperatures and another dose of snow, RV enthusiasts made their way to the Kellogg Arena in downtown Battle Creek last weekend. This year’s attendance mirrored last year’s numbers including a strong showing on Saturday. Four Michigan dealers put fifty three recreation vehicles into this year’s show with a heavy concentration of travel trailers and fifth-wheel travel trailers. “This show was just what we needed to get us started going into the spring season,” said Jeff Knapp, sales manager at Haylett Auto & RV of Coldwater. “We were pleased with the number of buyers and their willingness to make a buying decision at this year’s show.”
This year’s annual event featured twelve booth exhibitors which featured MARVAC campground members from over two hours away from the Battle Creek area. This year also featured the show’s largest parts and accessory display in recent years. Several door prizes were given away during the show and a grand prize of a week of camping in a dealer sponsored recreation vehicle at a mid-Michigan MARVAC member campground was awarded at the end of the show.

HARVEST applications for 2014-2015 are due March 28
Time is running out to apply for a HARVEST scholarship! If you know college students who could benefit from receiving a HARVEST scholarship, have them visit the association’s website, and download the application.
The HARVEST Education Foundation is a non-profit education foundation created by the Michigan Manufactured Housing, Recreation Vehicle and Campground Association in 1991. Recently, the Self Storage Association of Michigan was added to the HARVEST family.
HARVEST establishes educational programs and opportunities for students who wish to make a career in the RV and campground, manufactured housing or self-storage industry. In some cases, HARVEST will award scholarships to students even though their career goals may not lead them back to these industries. In cases like these, awards will be made to outstanding scholars or students with compelling needs.
