Doss Steps Down from MARVAC Board
Ed Doss, former owner of Waters RV and Storage, Waters, MI and current president of Waters Investments, has stepped down from the MARVAC Board of Directors effective August 12, 2014. Ed has served as MARVAC Board President and as Chairman of the MMH&RVCA Executive Board during his time on the board. Ed became involved with the association shortly after purchasing Waters RV and Storage in 2002. The dealership has participated in MARVAC’s Northwest Michigan Camper & RV Show in Traverse City since 2005. During Ed’s time on the boards, he saw important legislation for the RV and campground industries in Michigan get passed by Michigan lawmakers. He worked with the Secretary of State as a member of a select group of business owners to make improvements in dealer and bureau interaction. He served as Chairman of the Executive Board during the nearly two year project developing a specialty finance organization. Ed leaves the association and the industry having served its members and the organization with great pride and success.
Ed and his wife, Ruth, will be moving to Georgia in October to be closer to family, but don’t be surprised to see Ed and Ruth in northern Michigan on occasion in the coming years. Ed’s love of hunting and the great outdoors will keep them coming back.
Ruth Rickard of Haas Lake Park RV Campground Appointed to MARVAC Board
The MARVAC Board of Directors met via telephone on Thursday, September 4th and appointed Ruth Rickard, Manager of Haas Lake Park RV Campground, to fill the vacant seat on the MARVAC Board of Directors. The appointment is for one-year and Ruth will be eligible to run for a board position in June of 2015. Haas Lake Park has been a member of MARVAC since 1980 and is one of the largest private campgrounds in metro Detroit. Ruth has participated in numerous industry meetings and events. She served on the specialty financing organization task force in 2013-2014.
